Over the years, we have welcomed and sung with hundreds of people — complete beginners, experienced singers, and individuals who once believed they could never sing.

The choirs are led by Peter, a professional musician, singing teacher, vocal coach, and facilitator with over thirty years of experience in choirs, voice work, and personal development.
He began his musical journey in the 1970s as the frontman of a punk band and has worked professionally in music ever since. Over the decades, he has coached chart artists, professional musicians, community singers, complete beginners, and people who believed they were “tone deaf.”
His approach focuses on helping people release emotional blocks and build vocal confidence while reconnecting with their natural voice.
Peter’s work has been featured in The Guardian, which described his approach as:
“Peter’s method is about helping people find and trust their voice, physically, emotionally and psychologically. He’s inspiring and encouraging yet thoroughly down to earth. There are a lot of references to bodily functions as well as the bad jokes.”
In addition to his music career, Peter has formal training in spiritual development and counselling, alongside long-term experience in meditation teaching and group facilitation. These qualifications inform his grounded and holistic approach to leadership and teaching.
He has been running singing retreat holidays in France since 1997 and continues to create long-term communities centred around creativity, self-expression, and personal growth.
Today, Peter leads the Pop Rock Choirs with the understanding that singing is both a creative practice and a powerful tool for well-being, confidence and connection.

Our repertoire draws from traditional gospel influences, classic pop, and modern rock — inspired by artists such as The Beatles, Blondie, Coldplay, Elbow and many other iconic performers.
Our six-week courses are structured as focused workshops that gradually build confidence and group cohesion. Participants learn and rehearse a carefully selected set of songs together, working toward a shared performance at the end of the course.
Each session concludes with time for tea, coffee and homemade cake — a time to connect, reflect, and enjoy being part of the community.
