Leeds Minster-based St Peter’s Singers will be touring East Anglia from Saturday 21 October until Wednesday 25 October 2017. Hear this renowned chamber choir, celebrating its fortieth anniversary year, singing glorious English and Continental choral music featuring composers for whom 2017 also marks a significant anniversary. The choir will be visiting some of the East of England’s most beautiful cathedrals and churches. St Peter’s Singers have a busy schedule of four concerts and two services of choral evensong on their short tour of Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

The Singers will also be performing music by Lotti, Mathias and Monteverdi and not least Dr Francis Jackson - a great friend of this choir.  Dr Jackson was born on 2 October 1917 and his hundredth birthday was celebrated with great style in York and elsewhere earlier this month.  E J Moeran’s glorious Songs of Springtime, which were sung at the very first concert by St Peter’s Singers in June 1977, will also feature in a recital at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist in Norwich on Sunday 22 October at 1.00 pm. Choral Evensong at St Edmundsbury Cathedral on Tuesday 24 October at 5.30 pm features music by composers who have served as Organist at York Minster.
