Tim Knight will lead you through this day singing music from by Franz Joseph Haydn (which has been requested by our hosts). Pieces will include Haydn's Little Organ Mass, Haydn's Creation, Mozart's Ave Verum and some other surprises from the period ..... in the wonderful setting of St Lawrence's Church in Appleby, Cumbria. The final selection of pieces will be decided nearer the day. On our last visit we were fortunate to meet William the Bear (pictured), who may once again make an appearance as a guest conductor !
Appleby is a delightful market town on the famed Settle-Carlisle railway so a great base to explore the area if you wanted to make a weekend of it, as some of our guests often do (we have timed the day to coincide with arrivals on the Settle-Carlisle railway from both Leeds and Carlisle)! Our sing days are relaxed and fun but also require fast learning of the pieces so some previous experience of choral singing and the ability to sight-read is preferable to get the best out of the day.
