In this time the choir has participated in the Madrid Community choir contest, obtaining the first prize in 2009 and 2010, and the secón prize in 2007 and 2008
Within the choir activities, we could also mention their participation in theatre productions of the musicals Persephone and Midas by Steve Pogson, with which they obtained the first prize in the Vademorillo theatre contest. They were also awarded first prize in the Community of Madrid theatre contest, with the musical Super Jim, a play which was written specially for the choir by the British authors Steve Pogson and George Simmers.
The work of the choir is not solely centred on the training of new singers and preparing concerts, since its beginning we have firmly believed that a junior choir should be innovative, and, year after year the choir has sought after original works by Spanish authors which have been performed for the first time by the choir in the concerts and contests they have taken part in. Composers such as Patricia Mora and Vanessa Garde have written different pieces for this choir. For the next season, the choir has prepared a piece specially written for them by the composer David Azurza.
Las Veredas choir has also organised two choir contests in which some of the region’s best choirs have participated, such as: la Escolanía de Segovia, Coro infantil de la de Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and el Coro Juvenil del conservatorio de Tomelloso, along with many others. They also participated in the Tormelloso choir contest. In May 2011, the choir was invited to participate in the First meeting of junior choirs of Hortaleza, Madrid. In this academic year the choir has organized the first week of choir music of Las Veredas, with an invited choir master Basilio Astúlez and they prepared for 2012 the recording of their first disc. In addition, they were invited in September 2011 to participate in the Caixa Forum in Madrid to give a concert for Peace day.

Desde su fundación en el año 2005 por iniciativa de su director Enrique Martín, el Coro Las Veredas ha venido desarrollando una labor de fomento de la música coral en niños de edades comprendidas entre los 11 y 16 años. En este periodo de tiempo, ha participado en el Certamen de Coros Escolares de la Comunidad de Madrid, habiendo obtenido el primer premio en las ediciones 2009 y 2010, el segundo premio en las ediciones 2007 y 2008.
Dentro de las actividades del coro, cabe también destacar las incursiones en la música escénica, representando los musicales Perséfone y Midas de Steve Pogson, con los que obtuvo el primer premio en el Certamen de teatro de Valdemorillo, además de haber recibido recientemente el primer premio en el Certamen de Teatro de la Comunidad de Madrid, con el estreno del musical Superjim, obra que fue encargada por el propio coro a los autores ingleses Steve Pogson y George Simmers.
La labor que desempeña el coro en favor de la música coral no termina en la formación de nuevos cantantes y la realización de conciertos. Desde su formación, hemos creído profundamente que la vocación de un coro infantil debe ser innovadora, y, año tras año, el coro encarga a autores españoles la composición de obras corales que posteriormente son estrenadas por el coro en los diferentes conciertos y certámenes a los que acude. Autoras como Patricia Mora y Vanessa Garde han compuesto diferentes obras para esta agrupación. Para la próxima temporada, el coro ha realizado el encargo de una obra coral al compositor David Azurza.
Además, el Coro Las Veredas ha organizado dos certámenes corales en los que han participado algunos de los mejores coros infantiles como la Escolanía de Segovia, Coro infantil de la de Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y el Coro Juvenil del conservatorio de Tomelloso, entre muchos otros, además de participar en 2010 en el Certamen coral de Tomelloso. En mayo de 2011, el coro fue invitado a participar en el I Encuentro de Coros Juveniles de Hortaleza, Madrid En el presente curso, el coro ha organizado el I Seminario de música Coral las Veredas, cuyo director invitado ha sido Basilio Astúlez y prepara para 2012 la grabación de su primer trabajo discográfico. Además, en septiembre de 2011 el coro ha sido invitado a participar en Caixaforum Madrid en un concierto para celebrar el día de la Paz. less
